The story of life through images: vivid, harsh, and warm, happy and sorrowful, colourful and violent. Here are some recent pieces of original art by Sanjay Basak.

Through my work, I try to tell a story. The story of life. A story told in vivid, harsh and warm colours, images of the twists and turns. At times the images are happy, but full of sorrow, layered with emotion. Some images are violent and they challenge our harmony.

In my painting Shades of Life, there are sharp lines, fine points, jagged edges taking you through a journey (from birth), which is often cold and lonely. In the painting The Birds in Flight, the birds prance and fly across the canvas. Yet In this colourful world, there are predators and prisons.

These are tales of our thoughts, our feelings, and our sufferings, on canvas.
